How was the TeachBot content developed?
Since 2007, Bristol City Learning Centers and their associated expert educational consultants worked in conjunction with Elzware to put together the TeachBot content in English reading and writing. It has also been trialled in some local Bristol schools through the CLC and Bristol LA network.
How will TeachBot help me and my students?
TeachBot is a conversational system designed to help students work towards achieving the best grades possible in English, with content designed by English teaching experts. All students in our trials found it a fun, exciting and interactive way to learn English.
During a conversation with TeachBot, students are provided with explanations and examples which can be tailored to your lesson plan, to support your teaching. In essence, by acting as a Virtual classroom assistant, TeachBot frees you up to do what you do best, teach!

How will TeachBot help my child?

How will TeachBot help me?
The main aim of TeachBot is to help you work towards achieving the very best grades you can in your English work, right up to GCSE exams - this will include English and English Language GCSEs as well as English Literature. It will also help with coursework and revision.

How does TeachBot work?
TeachBot works by acting as your very own virtual personal tutor for English - pushing you to make the very most of your GCSEs - whether it's a C grade or an A* you're after.
Can I see how my child is engaging with TeachBot?
TeachBot provides you with a report so you know what your child has been working on. We'll email these over to you as long as you have opted in to receive reports.
How do I subscribe as a parent?
To subscribe, all you need to do is Choose Your Package and follow the instructions accordingly. On successful completion of this section, we will then email you your login details immediately. Once you have received your unique login, type it into your computer and this will give you access to the TeachBot system.
What happens if I spell things wrong?
Just as in everyday conversation, TeachBot recognises most common slang, misspellings and typos, but Blob will always reply to you in correct English.
How do I access TeachBot?
TeachBot can be accessed by your single, unique, login. All you need to do is type YOUR login into your computer and this should give you access to the TeachBot system.
How do I cancel my subscription?
There is no minimum term, but there is a 30 day cancellation policy. Please visit our Contact Page, select Cancel subscription from the Category menu, and complete the details. Your subscription will be cancelled in 30 days.
My log in details are not working. What do I need to do?
Will I need to install any special software to run TeachBot?
All you need to use TeachBot is a computer, a web browser (such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) and an internet connection. We've set up a quick check for you to ensure you've got all you need to use TeachBot. Click here to be sure your computer will run TeachBot.

How do I subscribe as a teacher?
To subscribe, all you need to do is go to our Subscribe page and click on the relevant link. Choose whichever package suits your school or learner project, complete the relevant application form, and send it back to us with your payment or purchase order number. On receipt, we will contact you directly with your login details and set up instructions. You can then start using TeachBot for your learners immediately.
How do I use TeachBot in class?
You'll soon get used to working with TeachBot, but we'll support you with some lesson plans which you can access with a TeachBot subscription. Once you've got an account, you can find the lesson plans in the Resources section of your log in screen.
Can I suggest a new topic or lesson plan?
The TeachBot content is very comprehensive, but it is not an exhaustive list. If you have a suggestion, do let us know by completing the Contact Us form.
What is the subscription period?
Subscriptions run from the start of each academic year, but you can join part way through and pay proportionally.
Can my project or schools start using TeachBot partway during the year?
Yes. Subscriptions are paid on an annual basis, and can start at any point during the year to run for a 12 month period.
I cannot find a particular topic that my class is working on.
A list of topics covered by TeachBot is available via the "Topics" menu from within TeachBot itself, which is the last option on the bottom menu. From here, you can navigate directly to the content area being covered by your class.
